Artist Statement: Inspired by reflections of a cabin on a heavily used lake, the colors reminded me of an oil slick, so I exaggerated them to disturb the viewer. I converted collected oil scum pockets into eddies caused by moving water, showing that water can be cleaned by the earth’s natural processes.
