Artist Bio: Sandra Parker

Earthbound by Nature, Starstruck by Wonder

Sandra Parker is a watercolor artist based in Tucson, Arizona, where the desert landscape and vast night skies inspire her creative journey. Her work explores the natural world with a sense of wonder, blending the resilient beauty of cacti, trees, and wildflowers with the expansive mystery of stars and space.

Sandra discovered her artistic talent while helping her daughter illustrate a middle school project. What began as a creative spark quickly grew into a passionate pursuit, nurtured through painting classes and long hours in her home studio. During the quiet isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, she began her Night Skies collection, a visual meditation on awe, hope, and the childhood magic of gazing up at the stars.

Each of her watercolor paintings invites viewers to slow down and connect, to feel grounded by the earth and uplifted by the sky. Whether she's capturing the majestic silhouette of a saguaro under a galaxy of stars or the delicate bloom of a desert flower, Sandra's work radiates both softness and strength.

Her art has been exhibited across the US as well as at local festivals and galleries, including the Saguaro Exhibit at the Herberger Theater, and continues to resonate with those drawn to the intersection of nature, memory, and imagination.
